June 15,2010 - August 27, 2012
Our blessed Amara has just received her set of wings, entering into our Lord's kindom on August 27, 2012, at the innocent age of 2 years, 1 month and 12 days.
She was the precious daughter of Sky Burmeister and Leonard White; priceless sister of Savannah, Roman, Turin, Breighton and Payge; always-loving granddaughter of Dawn and Daniel Zimmerman and Charles White; the great-granddaughter of Marian Crosswhite; and cherished niece of Kim, Bryan, Richard, Nicholas, Aunt Wanda, Aunt Penny and Uncle Dale. She is also loved by many relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 W. National Ave., on Thursday, Aug. 30th from 4-7pm and also 9:30am on Fri., August 31st, with service to follow at 10:30am.
A very special thank you to all who supported Amara and her family during her courageous battle with cancer and the continued support to find a cure.

First lets get to the reason this website was made; my sister has a RTK (Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney). Its a type of cancer. She is only 9 monthes old and was hospitalized for over a week with emergency surgery needed to remove her right kidney. The tumor they found was 5 inches big! It came out of nowhere. There are no standard treatments for this kind of cancer and the oncologist is suggesting a trial treatment for another type of rhabdoid tumor called AT/RT which occurs in the brain. This type of childhood cancer is fast moving and lethal. She was given a 20% chance of making it a year.
This is our ongoing journey through this tough time. We ask that you keep her and our family in your prayers. And we pray the God gives us the strength and the courage to continue to be strong for her and help her in the best ways possible that we can.
We also hope that our journaling this journey may help other families that are dealing with the same devistating news better understand the treatment process, without sugarcoating the details. We will try to be as detailed as possible and include pictures. When my mom was looking for information on this type of cancer she was not able to find much information on this type of cancer, but more than that, she could not find many other families dealing with the same type of cancer. Of those she did find, they were not very detailed about what their children went through during the treatment process, so she wasn't able to prepare herself or us for all that goes along with the treatment.
We ask that you sign our guestbook, even if you don't decide to become a member to our site so we can see that we are making the treatment process understandable for other families that may have to undergo this process in the future.
